Civilian escort vehicles and their drivers are trained and certified professionals who specialize in assisting our drivers remain safe, free of obstructions, and keeping the other civilians on the roadways safe alongside us during transport.  Many of our pilot and escort vehicles are contracted due to the certain laws and regulations per state and city requirements.   With the transportation of super loads and moving freight of huge dimensions and with colossal weight, we are often required to use State and City local Police or State troopers for added safety.  These are loads that dimensions exceed standard dual lane transportation, or if there are areas of road ways with blind or restricted vision.   We may need to have assistance for lane closures, temporary road closures to make turns, or go over weight restricted overpasses and bridges.  The costs and requirements for police escorts vary state by state, and are charged on a time basis by the state and city regulations.  We can provide additional information if your project will require these services, and how we can assist in coordinating these efforts for you.

Here are the numerous ways a civilian, police or trooper escort will assist our Bonnie Blue Specialized Drivers when transporting your shipments:

  • Warning other roadway drivers about the oversized load ahead of or behind them
  • Blocking lanes, intersections or off & on ramps when required for safety
  • Signaling to our Driver when they can safely change lanes, cross bridges or overpasses
  • Evaluation of tunnel, turn, curve, overhead or side clearance restriction issues prior to passing through
  • Guiding our heavy haul transportation driver and letting them know when it is clear and safe to enter narrow lane or weight restricted crossing
  • Providing our drivers knowledge of safety issues or delays on the roadways ahead
  • Prevention of damage to road infrastructures, including utilities and signage
  • Provide safety for our drivers of your oversize load and the other motoring public
  • Prevent damage to your over dimensional cargo that we are transporting
  • Minimize the delays of normal flow of traffic and accident prevention
